I’m an NZIPP Accredited Photographer!
I’m stoked to share some very exciting news with you: I am now officially an NZIPP Accredited Professional Photographer!
You’re probably thinking…okay, but what does that mean? And why is it a big deal?
Let me explain…
What is NZIPP Accreditation?
NZIPP (New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography) is the only recognised professional body for photographers in Aotearoa. Gaining accreditation isn’t as simple as signing up, far from it! It’s a rigorous process that involves presenting a portfolio of work to a panel of respected judges who are at the top fo the industry in New Zealand. They assess everything from technical ability and consistency to creativity, client care, and professionalism.
It’s not just about having great photos either. Any photographer who submits themselves for accreditation must prove they meet industry standards. I had to show that I earn money, pay taxes, and have the right level of insurance among other things.
In other words, accreditation is a stamp of approval that says: this photographer meets the highest professional standard in New Zealand.
